Peer Group Sessions are a program requirement offering valuable opportunities to practice coaching skills and engage in a variety of small group discussions on topics relevant to the business of coaching. Here’s how to handle missed sessions:
Step 1: Notify Your Peer Group
If you know in advance that you’ll miss a session, inform your group as soon as possible and inquire about rescheduling the group meeting if possible and mutually acceptable. If it is not possible that everyone can adjust their schedule, the coach with the conflict will look to makeup a missed session elsewhere.
Step 2: Make Up the Missed Session
Missing a session doesn’t mean falling behind. You are required to make up any missed Peer Group Sessions to fulfill program requirements.
Here’s how to make up a session:
-
Contact Student Support:
- Use the HubBot Chat to request a list of peer group leaders in your class.
-
Find Another Peer Group Session:
- Reach out to other peer group leaders to learn when their groups meet.
- Select a session that fits your schedule.
-
Attend and Participate:
- It doesn’t matter what topic the group is covering during their session. The important thing is to show up, engage, and contribute meaningfully.
-
Log the Session:
- After attending the make-up session, record it in your Peer Group Log to ensure it counts toward your total.
- After attending the make-up session, record it in your Peer Group Log to ensure it counts toward your total.
Final Thoughts
While missing a session can be inconvenient, making it up is straightforward. Take proactive steps to communicate with your group, reach out to other peer groups, and complete your session promptly.
